Heather L. Jenkins Denver, Colorado
Born and raised in southeastern Iowa and northeastern Missouri, I grew up with four brothers, two older and two younger, any one of which I could hold my own with. I attended public schools before obtaining a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Iowa. While I had a passion for archaeology, my ambition for a legal career won out and I enrolled in the University of Iowa College of Law, one of the nation's top twenty-five law schools. Although I thought that I would be most interested in corporate or business law, coming from a large family, I found myself drawn to family law. I first interned at a small, locally funded Legal Services office, where I mainly dealt with family law issues. I later interned at the University of Iowa Legal Clinic, where I continued to focus on family law issues and came to the conclusion that this was the area of law that I felt the strongest attachment to. While I was happy in Iowa, after law school I realized that Colorado was where I wanted to live. Moving to Colorado has been one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only are the mountains and weather beautiful, I happened upon a job opportunity that was a great fit. At the Law Office of Eric Ruderman, not only am I able to practice in the area of law that I care most deeply about, I am able to practice it in the way I feel most comfortable with. We have two standards that we practice by and with which I wholeheartedly agree. First, we don't represent clients who put their children in the middle, and, second, we focus on obtaining equitable settlements. I enjoy the practice of family law at the Law Office of Eric Ruderman and look forward to a continuing career in the area of family law. | ||||||||
